Coffee Queuing In Style @ St Ali

Coffee Queuing In Style @ St Ali

Shamelessly ripped from my Urbanspoon page -

It's been over a year since we've been here so a follow up review's in order. Dropping in at 1030 on a Saturday saw us joining the queue for a table (of 5) but now we could do it with style. The team had set up a coffee machine and a few seats across the alley opposite the cafe. Brilliant idea!

Onto the food - the eggs, bacon and fetta/avocado I had was spot on. I didn't hear any complaints from anyone else (My Mexican Cousin, Very Very French Toast and a Dutch Oven w/poached egg). Well, the only complaint was that the fella who had the Mexican reckoned there should have been more on the plate!

The staff were happy, approachable, friendly and keen to get us fed and caffeinated (we like this). The coffee was excellent and the syphons we had at the end were hot, full of flavour and moreish. Looking forward to getting back there (sooner than a year this time!).

Starbucks Nostalgia

Starbucks Nostalgia

I think the Annapolis Starbucks was the first Starbucks I had every consciously seen as well as the first Starbucks I had ever patronized. Either in 1995 or 1997, I'm not sure anymore. At the time I had my first Frappuccino and was immediately convinced by its delicious taste. I thought 'wow, I wish we had Starbucks in Germany'. They did come to Germany around 2003, I think. At the time I had the same thoughts about Taco Bell, which should give you an idea of the typical quality of Mexican food in Germany ;) This was before Chipotle, of course, which is currently just about the only US chain I still miss over here...
